The house was clean and well equipped for our needs. We were in town for a celebration of life, so we're not at the property much, but it had a "home" type feeling when we returned. Making it easy to relax.
View is beautiful. Seeing the water from all the back windows was a real bonus and treat.

The property was perfect. Location is great. We stayed for one night before travelling back to the ferry in Nanaimo as the area is much nicer. Beautiful park area not too far away, and some cute cafes/restaurants in the Ladysmith downtown again not too far away. Facilities at the hotel were amazing, pool & gym too. Rooms were spacious, and beds were comfortable. Staff were really kind too.
The house was beautiful, and the view as well. We came in winter, and the fireplace was perfect. It has a stocked kitchen and really awesome appliances. Our hostess was very nice and treated us to a bottle of wine for our anniversary. Very relaxing nice stay. I would not recommend the Sawmill Cafe however, that is close by. Rude staff, and we gave it more than one try. I asked the waitress for wine recommendation, and she gave me the worst wine, I had ever tasted in my life. I could not drink it. I went to the bar, and ordered something more acceptable. Then went with another pick from the waitress again. Something different than the first two, and low and behold same awful wine I got the first time. Tasted like someone put liquid smoke in it. I felt they had a very nasty wine they were trying to get rid of. No excuse for that kind of treatment. Other than that very sweet lay back Canadian town, as were neighboring towns. Lovely place.

A very quant and cute village.
A very quant and cute village. Great food and cafes, nice selection of shops and very, very friendly people. Feels very clean and safe. Perfect for walking and easy access to the water and small beaches. Add in the murals and the lively arts community and you have a village that I could easily move to.

Chemainus is a lovely town, do not need more than a day but it is a good point to travel from to see surrounding area. Easy walk around. Theater is great, part of the reason we visited. The murals are the highlight. Enjoyed the Indian restaurant (Invitation), heard the Thai restaurant was good, did not get a chance to try.

Very interesting little town; variety of coffee shops and restaurants; amazing murals, and many homes have lovely gardens that make wandering around a real pleasure; several parks and beach access points. Owl Nest Cafe is highly recommended for breakfast, lunch or coffees, baked goods.

Convenient place next to the highway, but despite it the room was quiet. Not much space in the room, but for just one night on the road it was ok. Comfy beds, clean bathroom, coffe machine. Restaurant in the neighbourhood (be careful, the portions are huge!), open till 9 PM. The only thing was, that the reception was not open as announced till 10PM, there was a key for us hidden next to the reception, but never mind.

It was great to see the murals again.
It was great to see the murals again. We found a fun street with garden art! First time in Kin Park for a picnic where kids could play. Amazing classical car show in front of Public market. Also browsed the Wednesday market by Water wheel Park. Listened to a great Tuesday evening outdoor concert....every Tuesday evening and Saturday afternoons! In the summer.
We ate suppers at the Sawmill Tap House, once inside, once on the patio?
The motel is easy to reach off the highway so it is very convenient. It is also right next door to a good restaurant which we stopped at for breakfast. The room was larger than expected and was spotless, aside from general stains. There is nice sized kitchen in the room so for a longer stay than ours it would be worth it to take advantage of but we were just staying the night to meet with a family member. Chemainus is just a short drive across the highway so very easy to get to if that is the purpose of your stay
I chose this delightful property for its location and it didn’t disappoint. It is right across from one of my favourite little beaches on Vancouver Island. The B&B suite is completely separate from the rest of the home and includes a fully equipped kitchen that guests are welcome to use. The host couple were charming and very accommodating and the suite was immaculately clean and very comfortable. It is beautifully decorated and the host’s keen aesthetic sense was evident in small touches everywhere.
Wonderful customer service! Felt like I was staying at a friends house, they were so accommodating and kind.
Room was small but clean, and everything worked properly.
The location was a bit far from town, but near a gas station and antique store so I didn't feel isolated. Only a 30 minute walk to Chemainus, and a 45 minute walk to the ferry to Thetis Island. Lots to do if you don't mind a bit of walking or have access to a car. Price was fair, would for sure stay again!
The location and privacy was exceptional
The owner was excellent
He has a new phone number
Should be updated
It’s hard to find the rt entrance so use common sense and a satellite map
Their is a sign so go up the rd from Malcolm it’s a dead end but you can see the turrets
From there
Bring your own pillow cases and coffee etc towels if you want luxury and toiletries
But the location and fun value is great

This was the surprise of our time on Vancouver Island and I have to say if we had to do it all over again, it would be our "home base" for the entire trip. From the direct access to the ocean for a quick swim to the unbelievable breakfast options that exceeded many larger establishments, the hosts were above and beyond the call of hospitality duty.
Our hosts were so friendly and helpful. Our king bed was amazingly comfortable and our room was very quiet. Breakfast was delicious. The B & B is right by a short trail to the beach where there is lovely view of Thetis Island. It is a short car ride or a nice walk away from the little town of Chemainus which is always fun to explore.
Lots of choices at the breakfast buffet with quality bacon, sausage and eggs. Enjoyed the pool and spa. Room was large, spotless, and quiet. Great location near golf course and mural walk. Enjoyable stay and we will return to this hotel.
Nice little B&B with a very friendly Host. It’s located near the Water and just a view minutes walk to the city of Chemainus. The breakfast was very delicious and we were able to order almost everything we want.
The Location is excellent and the views from the property were really a plus. It's a lovely suite with plenty of room, nicely decorated and comfortable beds. Chemainus is a lovely quirky little town to explore.
The room was big and bright with an awesome sea view. There was a skylight over the bed and at night the stars were awesome. Location was private and quiet. The town Chemainus was a short drive away.
