Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact.
Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact. The main thoroughfare is wide and attractive with lots of shops, all very well kept. There was a market just packing up when I arrived in early afternoon. There is a beautiful Albrecht Dürer window in the church, which is well worth visiting. The Main Street, Theresienplatz, has several street Cafés or restaurants. Hotel Gaubodenhof had a large out-door eating area on Theresienplatz.

I booked apartment with terace,got tiny rat hole upstairs with tiny windows,was +32 c....drunk noisy people around ...knocked at my door at night...plates and cups were dirty...bed was full of ketchup...and no receptionist....no one is to talk... Horible, nasty ,dirty place....Tatjana DubravaLatvia

As a frequent traveller I have seen thousands of superior to extraordinary hotels and stayed in most of them on a global scale. Asam did not ring a bell during booking but it certainly will in the future: professional team with that natural kind of friendliness all over the place. Location is easy to reach, the property itsself a mixed style arrangement from traditional to ultramodern. An unexpected pearl which made my day!

We arrived during the period when the Donau was flooding and thought we would have to severely modify our trip. The owner called ahead to our next hotel in Passau to make sure it was not flooded. He also helped us choose a safe route and recommended a stop in between. He truly saved our trip. The hotel also offers secure bike storage. The hotel is located a short 15 minute walk from centrum and numerous restaurants.

Our room 102 was spacious ,comfortable, light and clean. Shower was very good and there were toiletries in room . Elevator for upper floors . Good inside and secure bicycle storage . On site restaurant was on the city center (square) with good price point . Breakfast was good with eggs made to order upon request . Would stay here again in this great village .

It is also just a short walk from the main market square, and the river walk. It's a beautiful place in a great location, with friendly staff. The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. The hotel also has its own restaurant with an outdoor seating area. Prices for the restaurant are comparable to local. My room was clean and comfortable. Overall, I had a really nice stay.
