We were greeted very kindly on arrival by Kevin and joanne, the owners of litttlebeck warren. We stayed in the luxury silver suite. The room was immaculate and smelt beautiful. All the furniture is very comfortable and stylish. The bathroom is modern and very clean. The walk in shower is brilliant.. very big with sliding doors. The T.V is large and has the perfect viewing angle from watching on the sofa or in the huge bed. The breakfasts are made to order and made to perfection! We also had an evening meal which was served to us in the beautiful dinning room which has a relaxing feel to it with the lovely lights and the great service. Our meal was the seabass. The whole meal was cooked very nicely and tasted amazing! We stayed 2 nights, throughout our stay the owners were very attentive, kind and caring, seeing to all our needs. They also have a good knowledge of all the surrounding areas including all the lakes. We stayed at litttlebeck warren to celebrate our engagement. Kevin and joanne did everything to make our stay wonderful and even set up a special engagement surprise in our room for my fiancee, which we loved! Overall we had one of the best stays we have ever had and I would recommend staying at Littlebeck warren to anyone!

The apartment was spotless and very well equipped. Bob even left us milk and water in the fridge, coffees, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits. The beds were comfortable as was the lounge. The apartment is about a mile out of the Town centre, but that suited us perfectly. It's in a quiet street with views over the sea and mountains. Shower was easy to use and very clean.

Very friendly people and great customer service. Good choice of restaurants The harbour had a good continental vibe, when the sun was shinning. The town is making a good attempt to keep their heritage while at the same time modernising the harbour.
We ate at The Peddler, The Vagabond and Zest Harbourside. All were excellent. One night we had a fish and chip takeaway from Frasers., that was also excellent.
Whitehaven is near to the Lakes and the great beach of St. Bees. The cliff top walk from Whitehaven to St .Bees had fantastic views.

Interesting to discover coastal walks , a bit disappointed that Beacon museum charge for admission ! Surely locals / visitors / tourists should be encouraged to see and learn about the area in general without being hit with a charge . Public can eat in Moresby Hall and are great value for money !

Beautiful harbour. Beacon museum very interesting.
Beautiful harbour. Beacon museum very interesting. Easy access by road to places of interest with fantastic mountain scenery, valleys and lakes.Take a boat trip on Lake Windermere, return journey only £17. Avoid driving up to Surprise View - it's not for the faint hearted or inexperienced driver, especially if you have an approaching vehicle, with inches to pass and a long drop!! Ravenglass 15 gauge steam train ride not worth the money as not much to look at.

Places to eat are plentiful and excellent cooking, the Beacon museum definitely worth a visit. Parking plentiful but some can be expensive. Roads take a bit of getting acquainted with as streets are a bit twisty turny and some are one way so best to drive with care and know where you going, Whitehaven is a lovely town with plenty to do and see with an amazing amount of history. Definitely worth a visit, but our long weekend not long enough

Whitehaven is a lovely Georgian and Victorian coastal town with views across the Solway Firth to Scotland, and across the Irish Sea to the Isle of Man. Although, in common with many provincial towns after Covid, there are quite a lot of empty shops, there are still plenty of nice cafes and coffee bars around the town, and it has two large supermarkets and a leisure centre. The harbour is lovely, and even has its own resident seal right now (June 2023) - Stella. It's easy to get into the heart of the Lake District on the good main roads, so if you fancy a stay in a friendly coastal town away from the main tourist rip-off spots, I'd recommend it. And try the Jefferson's Rum Story on Lowther street, really worth a visit!

The harbour area is lovely.
The harbour area is lovely. There is a real sense of faded grandeur about Whitehaven: it's easy to imagine what it must have been like in its Georgian heyday.
Our first time in the area: if it wasn't so far from home, we'd be back. St James' church is a gem, with lovely people who were welcoming and happy to chat.
You need to be mobile and ready to walk up hills in Whitehaven. A nice place in sunny weather.
A well appointed B&B , with a lovely welcoming host and her three lovely dogs. We stayed for 2 nights and found Glenfield House to be very comfortable and welcoming . Nothing is too much trouble for the proprietor , Cathy.
she made our stay even more special . she took the time to chat to us and could recommend places in the locality to visit . Just out of Whitehaven town centre , which suited us just fine as we didn’t go looking for the nightlife .
Good breakfast choice and hot when arrived. Staff attentive at breakfast and quick service. Hosts very knowledgeable of local area and places to eat in the evening. Great location for visiting Whitehaven and surrounding area. Plenty of private parking. We had the room at the top with the four poster bed, worth the extra money for the large room and the very comfortable bed.
Would stay again.

Very impressive hotel in historical building. Great friendly service. Room in old Pele tower full of character. Shown other rooms which were very impressive. Cyclist friendly hotel. Exceptional evening meal with generous helpings...perfect for hungry cyclists. Very good breakfast. Good value for money. Would fully recommend
We stayed in Whitehaven to attend the Whitehaven Rugby league game so the Mansion was in a perfect position. |We also visited St Bees, Ravenglass and the Whitehaven harbourside so an excellent location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The fact I was able to have a swim each day in the pool was an added bonus
The hotel is trying but the state of the town drags it down. We were provided with ear plugs and at 4am we found out why. Seagulls. The noise was horrendous. All properties around were really rundown, as is 90% of the town centre. We’re booked to stay 2 nights. We left after only 1.
.The pool and hot tub was perfect way to relax
.The hotel was immaculate
.The views from the rear of the property were stunning
.The sound of the rain hitting the reception conservatory was beautiful
.The room was lovely and airy and spacious
In principle everything was above my expectations. Location, friendliness of host and staff, cleanliness etc.
There are also many pubs in town and walking the coast path from St Bees to Whitehaven (or the other way round) was really stunning.
Great location, just a short walk into Whitehaven; Kathy is a fantastic host and serves a very good breakfast. Room was fine, just took a while to master the shower. All in all a very pleasant stay.
First time stay at Whitehaven and it was an absolute pleasure very well priced and location of the summer Grove Hotel was lovely and quiet would recommend to anyone and will sure to visit again
Very nice people, clean room. Great breakfast, I couldn't eat it all. I was riding the C2C, the hotel is right near the start. They can even lock your bikes up for you. Great value for money.
Location is excellent. Quality of the shared kitchen, dining area and living room is very high. Ensuite room on top floor was perfect. This is amazing value for money
