The staff was excellent and very responsive and friendly. It had a very good air conditioner and small refer which was a nice surprise! We were also able to borrow beach umbrellas, beach towels and a kayak. This hotel is a crown jewel!! This was probably our favorite place to stay during our trip to Italy!! I would highly recommend it!

Expect great facilities such as a rooftop terrace and free Wi-Fi internet. the hotel staff was very helpful in arranging a taxi to collect me at Sarzana station and take me back to the station - Riccardo made it all happen and i was very grateful for this exceptional service ( as i was a woman who travelled alone)

Featuring panoramic views of Portofino Bay, Excelsior Palace is a luxury 5-star hotel offering 2 restaurants, sun terraces and spacious rooms, many with sea views. We stayed here for our 25th anniversary trip to Italy on our way from the Lake Como area and before visiting Portofino and the Cinque Terre and Tuscany. The hotel was very kind to upgrade us to a beautiful bay view with balcony. It was spectacular. We had a drink there and then ate in their restaurant, which was good. Breakfast was also very good and had lots of options. Espresso drinks were wonderful. I chose this hotel because it also had a nice gym, and I enjoyed it and its spectacular view. We were hoping to eat at the seaside restaurant and sit by the pool because the weather was in the 80s, but they were clsoed for the season. :( We visited Santa Marguirita Ligure, which was lovely, for lunch, and very close by.
